Our Anniversary present from Nick and Shanie

Note: "the perfect angels"! Funny present. They said they had so much fun sitting in the booth trying to figure out a worthy pose. What better gift than super great kids?!!! Nate is missing because he is still in Costa Rica....should be getting into Utah today or tomorrow.

Shanie is off to BYU with Steve tomorrow! I am going through serious mourning! Shouldn't my kids want to live with their momma forever? Shanie's hand is recovering and she is glad to have her cast off. Such a pain for summer! Nick and I are gearing up for the start of school. I am teaching 6th period seminary. At least my college classes don't start until the end of September....not sure how I am going to juggle all my different classes. Nate told me that the Lord would mulitply my time.

Bushman Update as of January 2011

Steve is almost 50...Feb. 13th is the big day. We are coming home from the Dominican Republic on the 12th...just in time to celebrate! Steve is scout master...liking that. Eating, sleeping and breathing roofing. We are attentive listeners to roofing stories. Steve is one of the owners of three shops in Oregon and WA. He is into crossword puzzles (ya....I don't get it) and sleeping on the couch while trying to watch something on tv.

Sylvia is teaching fitness at the YMCA in the wee-hours of the morning, at the senior center through the Community College- Lifelong Learning department, and teaching at the college...this quarter, Core Workout. I have about 6 staff taking my class this year and one of them is auditing me. The college is overflowing and our class size is way too big and we don't even have enough equipment...so that is hard. I'm also teaching 7th period seminary...Freshmen/Sophmores. I have about 18 students and mostly boys. I spend much time preparing, teaching and crashing after!

Nate (23) is maybe going to try to finish BYU by going spring and summer quarter and is applying to dental schools. So much is required for him to apply...he has to have all these hours shadowing dentists. He has a serious girlfriend name Kamie Olsen who we really adore! Nate just got a job doing research for a professor and another job helping at the MTC on the weekends....kitchen work! He is a hard working boy...compassionate and funny. He made us laugh all Christmas break.

Shanie(21) is immersed in the Accounting Program...and she says it is very hard...she has tons of homework...she says at least 8 hours a day....but she also has track pratice, 3 hours of her day. I don't know how she does everything! She started indoor season for pole vaulting a few weeks ago. She also is involved in as many intramural teams as she can get her hands on. I just shake my head writing this...she is amazing! Oh....her missionary came home...they seem like they are hanging out....he barely came home....like a week or two ago.

Nick (18) Is finishing his senior year at high school. He is taking Advanced Strength Training and is in very nice shape...he also is on a special team that are training early for track. He is going to try to go to a semester of college before his mission. His bday is September....19!...but we are shooting for him to leave the end of December after one semester of school...that is if the money fairy drops a good one. {I'm gonna die when this one leaves}

What is happening with the Bushmans now?

Steve is struggling with his hearing....working hard in YM's and at work....driving his hour drive to work every day. He has been making breakfast on some Sundays and some dinners....and we all like that!

Syl has less classes in the summer.....wondering what the heck is happening to summer....how could it go by so fast? She is eating twice as much in an attempt to eat less....to be 'bathing suit' ready. She wishes her kids were home more and feels panicked that her time with them is passing too fast!

Nate took his DAT in Seattle. It is his dental school entrance exam. He got in the 93 %! He is shadowing dentist this summer and will start roofing soon....but he wants to put that off as long as he can....who wouldn't? His first choice of school is University of WA in Seattle....then he would be close.

Shanie is working 50+ hours a week at a nursery plant place....six days a week! She's still got more energy than anyone.... she comes home from a full day and goes to do her pole vaulting workout and then she will work at home or organize a sporting event. We all watch her and get tired!

Nick is working strawberries. He is working 6 days a week too and 9+ hour days. His fingers are stained black from strawberries. He is happy to have Shanie and Nate home....but want lots of attention from them.
