Vacation at Neah Bay

We just got back from a trip with our friends to Neah Bay. The boys went fishing all day and the girls went swimming in the ocean, hiking, eating a lot, and one night we went crabbing near Canada. Nick got really sick the first day of fishing. He was throwing up for the entire 9 hours out on the water. He wasn’t the only one sick, our friend’s son, who is a hearty sailor was even sicker and one of the ladies who went on the boat too was pretty sick. Both the other sick sailors didn’t go fishing the next day but Nick did and he didn’t get sick, he did take some Bonine. The boat that Nick was on broke down that next day and they were stuck on the water for over 14 hours. They were towed in by the Coast Guard when they finally could get to them. Their boat did get more fish than the one that Steve and Nate were on. Nick got a good salmon. We had fresh fish that night. Fish and chips, it was really good. Cooked outside and eaten outside.
The girls went hiking to Cape Flattery, the very NW tip of Washington. What a site! Wow! It was beautiful. We took pictures but they do not do it justice. Huge cliffs with caves and rocks coming out of the water. We loved it! We also saw a rock that sea lions were sunbathing on. The girls also went body surfing on the beach side, south of the Bay. We swam as long as we could and ran out on frozen feet and tried to warm up. The beach was clear on this day but the next day when we went to take family pictures it was so foggy. You couldn’t even see the ocean in our family beach pictures.
On our way home, our car broke down in Poulsbo, we were heading to the ferry on Bainbridge Island to get to Seattle and back home. We got stuck for a few days so we finally rented a car to get home and we will go back next week to pick our broken down car up. Poulsbo was pretty, they had a Viking type village and we were right by one of the many Puget Sound’s bays. It was pretty. We love the Northwest
