On the day that Nicko was born...the angels sang and they 'tooted' (supposed to be blew....but I like tooted better) their horns....and they danced and they danced! And I danced and I danced....but a few weeks after giving birth...have you ever tried giving birth to a Bushman head?
And I sang (badly) and I sang and kissed and loved him! Nick is now 17 years old and we have had 17 amazing years with this boy! I think he was born happy and lively. We could hold him in the air when he was still so little and he would kick his dangling legs madly and I thought it was soooo cute!

He was so mischievous! He would watch me carefully....make sure he had my attention....and I knew what he was up to.....and then he would turn and crawl as fast as he could to the dining room to tear apart the moss on the plant I had in there.....I would dutifully charge after him....it was such a fun game!....and he would look at me....grab the moss and stick it on his head with the happiest face imaginable! And being a 'good mom', I would shriek out my displeasure....knowing this would make him so happy.....and you could just see it tickle him inside and out.....so I loved having a big fit! Steve tried to get me to throw away the moss....to eliminate this frequent moss destruction and mess....but....aaaa.....no way would I do that!!!! It was 'our game'....our way of loving each other!
I swear Nick was climbing and jumping off things before he could walk! I would see him on top of the bleachers at a baseball game.....and I knew what he was going to do....and as he jumped off, I would be running (in slow motion.....felt-like) and yelling, "Nooooooo......".......he was so little! He is my most cuddly child and so fun to hug and kiss! No wonder the girls like him so much!

Awwww... what a cute little tribute! I think Nick and Shanie look alike some. I love your moss story. How fun and what a good memory to have!
