On the day that Nato was born!

Nate's birthday, May 30th, 1987! Nate is going into denistry....officially....ummm....well....sort of officially.....we will see! He has one more year at BYU though credit-wise he is a senior.....but for his pre-dentistry....he has that much longer. (Nate in Costa Rica)

On the day that Nato was born the angels sang and they 'tooted' their horns and they danced and they danced!!!!!! And I danced and danced.....with him....to get him to sleep and to love him! Nate is turning 23! He has been home from his mission (to El Salvador) for two years now. I remember the day he was born.....Steve almost fainted and everyone stopped attending me and ran to his side to keep him from passing out on the floor and I just laid there....in a very awkward position ....thinking "What the heck???.....ummmm......over here!......please...aaaa.....hello?" Nate was born with a perfect cone head! Never have you seen such a perfectly formed cone! A very tough delivery! I was so pleased with him!!!! How could a cone head baby be so cute....and jaundiced! My tan little cone head!

"Ta-Prise!" (surprise!)
Nate was born serious...sort of....but silly too. He didn't smile forever and when he finally laughed it sounded like a forced cough with a grimace! I was so happy to have this new little companion and toted him everywhere with me....and he was so good natured. I would always reach back to hold his hand in the car and couldn't find it one time.....only to look back and find his carseat turned over on its side with Nate calmly sitting in it sideways! I wonder just how long he rode like this???

Nate was the most loving brother and so pleased when Shanie was born....he was so soft and careful with her....he would curl around her and fall asleep. He loved her so much! What a good boy....an unusually good boy! As they both got older and Shanie's iron will got to him one day and he exclaimed in frustration that he wouldn't have so many sins if it wasn't for Shanie! He always wanted to please and help. He was the most decorated scout ever and the toughest wrestler even though he was small. He used to want me to measure how tall he was.....every day....twice a day....and pretty much he didn't grow! He would come to our room at night and tell us goodnight at least four times before going to bed.....or until Steve got frustrated and scooted him out. He always did his best! So spiritually strong....and concerned about everyone....wanting us to have meaningful prayers and family time. He was such a peacemaker and we sorely missed him when he left on his mission....his presence in our home was so great! Often people were amazed at him and we would have teachers, leaders, and others rave and rave over Nate. His greatness was/is undeniable!

But....just so you know he isn't perfect! A little disorganized.....slow at getting ready.....and he hated my work charts!....he lived in great fear of them and happily grew up to work other places than home. He still speaks of those charts with dread and loathing in his voice! I loved working with the kids! Nate always wanted an assignment and for me to leave him alone to do it....but I liked to monitor. hahaha! He is so so so loved! A great blessing! Can't wait to see what his future holds!
