My dad!

Our hike and adventures this past weekend. Playing with my dad still!

Memories of my dad:

tickle fest......running around dad and him catching us and tickling us

dad and his tape recorder.....ready for our dates.... and screams of fits over ugly Cmas tree
dad reading Les Miserables.....became my favorite book (i've read it several times)....loved hearing about Cossette (sp?) and Jean Val Jean (sp?....name? hahaha....can't remember)
dad reading Edgar Alan Poe.....scary stories.....we knew he loved them!
dad and his "Buried alive story"

dad and tv!....adjusting the antenna and the color....ALOT
dad and cookies and bread and milk....only in cool whip bowls
dad and frozen carrot cake....in milk....in a bowl
dad and 'buttoned up wrong' sweaters
dad carrying us....on his shoulders.....knocking our heads off as he went downstairs!
dad carrying us on his feet, legs, arms, and back! several kids at a time
scarying dad and seeing him get scared....the only time he would...."I don't like being scared!"
dad and flips....on the hand ....hard discipline!

dad and 8 track tapes....with spoons inserted to keep them working....i think spoons
dad driving the van "beeeaannn".....and us sitting up on the engine cover (inside camper)looking out the window and at dad driving....loving the view of the road and the warm engine....and adventure!
dad making all our bed in the "beeeannn"....spending endless hours making our beds
dad and naps.....with some cloth over his head....face?
dad coming home at the same time every day.....us waiting "Okay keeyyy kaads....any okee kads?"
dad going on business trips "we might never see him again.....what if his plane crashes?.....better say goodbye"
dad's trip prizes! especially turqoise ring! (still have it....a treasure)
dad "the worry wart".....but now i think not.....we did dangerous hikes!

dad telling us he would give us extra work.....if we complained or didn't do this or that

dad and that one guy in his car pool (forgot his name) that dad didn't get along with....maybe the only person i knew dad didn't get along with! (other than mom ;)
dad's Hercules badge and steel toe shoes
going to Hercules Lagoon day and to Hercules....only the very entrance....never ever seeing his office....top security! building rockets and missles
dad and his pockets full of saved candies, jams, cookies and gum

dad saving....hiding cookies and cakes until they rotted but still eating them....with milk

dad asking us if we would remember what he looked like now.....before he got older
or would we remember him when he had hair?
dad and covers!......covering us at night!.....him with a hundred covers for himself
dad helping us with leg aches.....pounding and hot pads
dad and 'talk fests'.....giving good advice.....i loved 'talk fests'

sorry.....i could go on for all day but i have to clean the house!
