nicko's work...klicker strawberries

this is nick's 5th or 6th year working at Klicker strawberries. he started when he was 12....picking strawberries. since he has been field boss, picker, belt worker, stacker, weeder, planter.....fence builder...trucker, dumper....sorter....sugarererer.....etc. just about everything. he seems to really love it....even though he has to be to work before 7am and usually leaves here at 6:30 am every morning....they work saturdays too.....he works over 9 hour days too and six days a week. i hate the kids working this much!! (shanie worked strawberries for about this many years too.) i guess better than him sleeping in all summer....i have an aversion to sleeping in....drives me crazy....i have no respect for the 'sleeper-in-er'. nick would love to sleep forever....he would be one to sleep until noon....but i start pestering him at 8...then 9....then i pretty much have a fit if he is still in bed by 9:30.....surely this is the ultimate in laziness!!! nick pops out of bed though for summer strawberry work.....better than he does for school. he likes the crowd of teens that work there too. klickers hires a ton of kids to pick. the season is over for most kids....they keep the older kids for klicker mountain picking....that will last a few more weeks and then he is done for the summer

in the morning...kids arrive to pick and nick and some of the older kids load them on the buses to organize them or drive them (nick doesn't drive the buses) to the location they will be picking

Sylvia and Steve,
I saw your comment on our blog and wanted you guys to know that I love you and your family, tell them hello. I've always admired you guys and appreciate your friendship.

Pray for Angie (she left the marriage by the way in spite of what the blog says....and you guys personally saw us together, it was anything but one sided, but that is beside the point now.) I guess i just wanted to thank you for your example, keep it up.

And i'm doing well by the way, moving to Vegas in a month so I can be the dad i want to be and be closer to the kids that moved away.

Ben, I don't know how to respond to you....not sure if you will look at this blog again and I couldn't find you on facebook or anything. Just wanted you to know that Angie has NEVER said anything bad about you at all....seems more like she still loves you alot. I am so sad because you seemed like such a perfect couple....and you had the makings of that. I know there is always two sides of a story....but honestly Angie was so kind and loving about you....I've never seen anyone getting a divorce that talks so nicely about their spouse. (She told me she was leaving the marriage.)

Ben, you have more potential in you than almost anyone I've seen! You have that something extra....but it gives you power that can be used wrong....with so much power you have to be more careful to use it wisely.

I hope that both of you come through this with love and kindness and forgiveness.

Marriage can be hard, but all Angie said was that you never fought and that you really got along and you were always her best friend....but those things can go away under hard circumstances.

I'm glad you are doing well. We all love you guys so much! REally! Good luck. You have to turn to the true source of light and truth....and find your way! Hope you can find it.....hope we all can....so easy to get lost and mixed up and on the wrong course....we continually have to reevaluate where we are heading....and is it the direction we want to end up at? I've been heading the wrong way plenty! I'm amazed how easy it is to stray away from everything that really matters. That scares me....my own weaknesses....my ability to get lost. I think the ONLY way to stay on a true course is that Liahona lesson....using the right compass....the scriptures! If I'm diligently studying, I can see the lies that Satan is trying always to make look good and right....I cannot be deceived....or not very easily be deceived. Good luck on your course....hope it is a true one....hope I can do it to....make it through with good choices.

Wonder if you will even see this message....and of course....I'm praying for your whole family!
