Nick just got back from a big scout encampment. His leader talked the boys into shaving their heads for this....I was like....NO WAY!....his hair is so cute...but then I knew he would never forget doing this....that it would be a great part of his memories....so I let him! He looks older....like a Marine! A member of the General YM's presidency asked Nick to speak one night on a topic along with a few hand picked boys. I heard that Nick gave a great talk on service....serving our elderly neighbors. Often, I will send Nick over to help them....sometimes I deliberately don't go with him....knowing that he will grow more without me. He helped the daughter of our neighbor clean out their gutters....they were full of little trees...actually growing! Nick had such a wonderful time talking with the daughter....she is a retired teacher....I went over later to check on him and found them talking and Nick so happy and the neighbor's daughter so happy too. Anyway...Nick talked in front of 1500 other boys and I had so many people come up and tell me what a great job he did....how great the things he talked about were....I mean sooooo many men and boys! I swear Nick was born to do great things!
