.....hmmmm hohoho?

It is so great! The kids are home! Safe and sound.....and gone! lol! It is FHE night and I'm looking around....no kids....Steve crashed on the couch! hahaha! hmmmm...... The kids went to the young adult branch FHE and are now playing volleyball or basketball at the church. I'm supposed to be cleaning....but I'm hoping some magic will happen....maybe Santa's elves? By-the-way...is it elves? or elfs? Not the great vision I had of our first FHE together!

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night...walked down the hall and checked all the rooms...and they were full! ahhhh....that did my heart good and I kissed them all on the cheeks...each did something funny in their sleep...Shanie-she basically looks like she totally wakes up "what? what?" but she never is awake...Nick-like a log...he rolls over...grunts and grumbles...Nate-he pats me in his sleep! Oh, got to love those kiddies! I still can't believe they don't want to watch a Christmas movie with me....make hot chocolate....have a snowball fight...make chocolates....and cuddle! I remember them getting so excited for Christmas...when they were little!

Today Shanie and I went shopping...you should see us! we are quite a pair! I want to wait to see if that will go on sale later....in the fear we might buy it today and it go on sale the next...we both hate trying on stuff and sneak in the same changing room. My job is to get the stuff off the hangers for Shanie to try on and then to put them back on the hangers...but we both start melting....not too long into this process...we look like we are dragging around! Is there anything more miserable than shopping? Maybe it would be fun with a lot of money...something we may never find out! We both finally got home....exhausted! and the boys were just vegging out...I can't believe they didn't clean the house....lol....they couldn't even find their own food!

I must say....I enjoy all of this....even the misery of shopping...missing dentist appointments made 6 months ago for the college kids! {sheez...how could we forget?}...trying to figure out what to make for dinner...without really making it! I am looking around...tv on...snoring in the couch regions....kids stuff all over...and I feel happy! I love Christmas!

Bushman Update as of January 2011

Steve is almost 50...Feb. 13th is the big day. We are coming home from the Dominican Republic on the 12th...just in time to celebrate! Steve is scout master...liking that. Eating, sleeping and breathing roofing. We are attentive listeners to roofing stories. Steve is one of the owners of three shops in Oregon and WA. He is into crossword puzzles (ya....I don't get it) and sleeping on the couch while trying to watch something on tv.

Sylvia is teaching fitness at the YMCA in the wee-hours of the morning, at the senior center through the Community College- Lifelong Learning department, and teaching at the college...this quarter, Core Workout. I have about 6 staff taking my class this year and one of them is auditing me. The college is overflowing and our class size is way too big and we don't even have enough equipment...so that is hard. I'm also teaching 7th period seminary...Freshmen/Sophmores. I have about 18 students and mostly boys. I spend much time preparing, teaching and crashing after!

Nate (23) is maybe going to try to finish BYU by going spring and summer quarter and is applying to dental schools. So much is required for him to apply...he has to have all these hours shadowing dentists. He has a serious girlfriend name Kamie Olsen who we really adore! Nate just got a job doing research for a professor and another job helping at the MTC on the weekends....kitchen work! He is a hard working boy...compassionate and funny. He made us laugh all Christmas break.

Shanie(21) is immersed in the Accounting Program...and she says it is very hard...she has tons of homework...she says at least 8 hours a day....but she also has track pratice, 3 hours of her day. I don't know how she does everything! She started indoor season for pole vaulting a few weeks ago. She also is involved in as many intramural teams as she can get her hands on. I just shake my head writing this...she is amazing! Oh....her missionary came home...they seem like they are hanging out....he barely came home....like a week or two ago.

Nick (18) Is finishing his senior year at high school. He is taking Advanced Strength Training and is in very nice shape...he also is on a special team that are training early for track. He is going to try to go to a semester of college before his mission. His bday is September....19!...but we are shooting for him to leave the end of December after one semester of school...that is if the money fairy drops a good one. {I'm gonna die when this one leaves}

What is happening with the Bushmans now?

Steve is struggling with his hearing....working hard in YM's and at work....driving his hour drive to work every day. He has been making breakfast on some Sundays and some dinners....and we all like that!

Syl has less classes in the summer.....wondering what the heck is happening to summer....how could it go by so fast? She is eating twice as much in an attempt to eat less....to be 'bathing suit' ready. She wishes her kids were home more and feels panicked that her time with them is passing too fast!

Nate took his DAT in Seattle. It is his dental school entrance exam. He got in the 93 %! He is shadowing dentist this summer and will start roofing soon....but he wants to put that off as long as he can....who wouldn't? His first choice of school is University of WA in Seattle....then he would be close.

Shanie is working 50+ hours a week at a nursery plant place....six days a week! She's still got more energy than anyone.... she comes home from a full day and goes to do her pole vaulting workout and then she will work at home or organize a sporting event. We all watch her and get tired!

Nick is working strawberries. He is working 6 days a week too and 9+ hour days. His fingers are stained black from strawberries. He is happy to have Shanie and Nate home....but want lots of attention from them.
